Q & A with the Owner & CEO of TBBB
1- What should couples look for in a bar service?
There are so many amazing Bar Service companies in Utah, so it just depends on what you are looking for. For example, Tin Barrel is a Luxury Beverage Bar that customizes to your style and event. We want the drinks to be “Insta-worthy” as well as delicious. Check out the Bar Services website, reviews, Instagram and you will be able to tell if their branding, vibe and clientele from the past are similar to you and what you’re looking for. Always ask for a free consultation call where you can ask questions and hear about services. You do not get the full effect via text or email.
2- What should couples come to you having already done/prepared? (Pre first meeting/reaching out)
-Date
-Hours of service they will want & Times
-Guest count (range 150-175)
-A basic idea of what they want to serve. Not the type of drinks, as that will be discussed when you confirm the services, but do you want Specialty His & Hers, Mocktail option, just wine and beer.
-Location/Venue
-Budget
3- What questions should couples be asking their bar service when they reach out/first meet them?
What sets you apart from other bar services?
What can we expect on the day of our event?
What do we provide? What do you provide?
When is the deadline to make any changes on headcount or services?
How do I pay and when is it due?
4- What is one thing you wish you could tell all brides/grooms?
We understand our meeting is with you, as you are hiring us to take the headache of all the rules and laws that come along with having alcohol at your event. Remember we are the subject matter experts in this area. We know the laws and we know what works best for weddings and events. PLEASE respect that knowledge, and partner with us to make your day as stress free as possible. At least when it comes to your bar service. This means follow all rules that we review, send and have in place in the contract. IE: One of our rules is, No alcohol allowed prior to service time. All alcohol must be served by a licensed and insured bartender.
This is very important as your bartending service is carrying all liability for your event. If someone is to drive drunk, and was to get in an accident, technically your bartending service is liable. In order to control the crowd properly, and not over-serve, we need to know where all the alcohol is coming from, and confirm everyone that is consuming alcohol is of age. If you sneak in alcohol to the Bridal or Grooms Suites prior to the designated serving time, or allow your friends to sneak flasks or “tailgating” in the parking lot, you are creating a situation that could cause us to not be able to do our job thoroughly. This could put you and the Bartending company at risk.
5- Do you have any recommendations for couples as they choose a bar menu and try to purchase the right amount of alcohol for their event?
Yes, we will discuss that in detail with you on the phone consultation. What drink do you order when you go out? What is your favorite liquor? What are your favorite fruits, flavor notes etc?
Tin Barrel has an alcohol calculator that we provide along w/ a shopping list that is sent a couple months prior to the event. Ask your bartending service to assist you. .
